saveourbikes

The Save Our Bikes team wants to design and build covered bike shelters around campus. Rusting bikes are a growing concern for the large student population, Swamp Rabbit Trail users, and Greenville community who live and visit campus. We want these bike shelters to be not just aesthetically pleasing, but also functional. Click on the links below to find out more about this project.

The Save Our Bikes team consists of Sidney Dills, Lilly Flewellen, Louis McEleveen, Zachary Ashburn, and Laura McComb. They are sponsored by Furman's Physics department and the Shi Center for Sustainability.

Goal: Raise $5000 to build bike shelters and maintenance stands outside Furman's SoHo residences

Hands on Learning

We want the bike shelters to be designed and constructed by students to give them the opportunity for a hands on learning experience.

Sustainability

Bicycles do not last very long when it is sitting uncovered in the rain. Bike shelters would extend the life of bicycles on-campus.
